Coming off the successful launch of its National COVID-19 Resiliency Network—a powerful connected health platform, Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) felt it was time to prioritize its health equity initiatives and develop concrete plans for achieving them. KPMG gathered the data, specialists, and tools to help MSM undertake a penetrating and unfettered examination of its current capabilities, the larger healthcare landscape, and global disparities in health. The school emerged with clearly defined priorities and detailed roadmaps.

Acquiring a large organic food and beverage business helped a global CPG company expand its operations and nearly double its revenue in the U.S. However, as with most mergers, the integration posed some challenges. KPMG shares the journey toward health equity with Morehouse School of Medicine

Having worked closely with Morehouse School of Medicine in 2020 to build the National COVID-19 Resilience Network (NCRN) — a sophisticated, connected health platform — KPMG possessed a deep knowledge of the school’s commitment to and capabilities in health equity research and community outreach. Partly as a result of that work, MSM wanted to evolve its health equity vision and expand its global footprint.

Helping MSM find the North Star leading to a future of global health equity

To help MSM jump-start new ways of thinking and re-envision the art of the possible, we invited key leaders to participate in a series of KPMG Ignition experiences. By providing literal and figurative space to think creatively, and designing collaborative experiences, KPMG Ignition helped MSM rapidly gain insights into how to modernize the organization and its capabilities in ways that could expand its presence and impact across the globe.

After aligning with MSM on scoping, objectives, and a framework, the Ignition team made exhaustive preparations, gathering the data and KPMG specialists required to power robust discussions on key topics ranging from artificial intelligence and connected health to back-office operations and change management.

An important final step was the creation of concrete plans aimed at capturing the energy created at the Ignition sessions and converting it into clear actions needed to modernize technology and processes and empower the people leveraging them.
