Think your back-office transformation should be technology-led?

Donna Meshaka talks about the steps organizations should go through to successfully transform their back-office with technology.

Over the past several years, many organizations have focused on a technology-supported, customer-facing transformation approach to remain competitive and, ideally, get ahead of the competition. Now, an increasing number many CFOs, COOs, and CIOs are training their sights on back-office transformation, as they recognize they haven’t taken advantage of the newer technologies to enhance those operations.

Unfortunately, many err by approaching back-office transformation from purely a technology perspective. The reality is that success more often comes from collaboration between the business functions – HR, finance, supply chain, etc. – and the technology function.

In this podcast, Donna Meshaka, a managing director in KPMG’s CIO Advisory practice sat down to discuss:

  • Why back-office transformation need to start with a business-led vision.
  • Four questions to should consider when building a transformation vision: What we want to be? What do we need to do? How do we get there? How do we start?
  • How to bring that vision to life – including selecting the right technology and establishing a transformation management office.
