Reza has played an integral role in some of the firm’s most significant engagements and has advised many of our top IFRS clientele. His experience is primarily within the banking and insurance sector, including commercial, investment, and retail banking; asset management; and financial risk management. He leads KPMG Advisory’s Financial Instruments Accounting Change offering in the United States.
He manages a broad range of accounting implementation, transaction analysis, and “on-call” Accounting Advisory Services for clients on technical banking topics including consolidation, impairment, effective yield and derivatives.
He also leads KPMG’s IFRS 9/CECL go-to-market initiative for banks, nonbanks and non-financial institutions.
His responsibilities also include accounting change work relating to new classification and measurement, impairment and hedge accounting under IFRS and U.S. GAAP, and pro forma, carve-out control, audit, and accounting assistance at a large investment bank. He also manages a broad range of buy-side and sell-side cross-border engagements in various industries, including SEC reporting, foreign and U.S. listings, accounting and finance onboarding and separation.
He provides technical accounting trainings both in-house as well as at client sites and is a frequent speaker at several industry conferences and events.
