We are pleased to share our industry findings of the Harvey Nash/KPMG CIO Survey 2020.  Now in its 22nd year, it is the largest IT leadership survey in the world, with over 4,200 responses from CIOs and technology executives across 83 countries.

This year’s report references both pre-COVID-19 findings as well as during COVID-19 responses. Together they provide unique insights into the before, during, and continuing aftermath of the pandemic.

While the survey results reveal what’s changed and what’s remained constant, the industry has played a significant and decisive role in how organizations have fared during the COVID-19 pandemic. Some industries are faced with the challenge of finding a viable business model while others are challenged with a surge of demand.

As the current situation of the world continues to evolve, boards will need to get used to the discomfort of uncertainty and technology leaders will need to use their increased influence to enable core strategic priorities such as improving operational efficiency and customer engagement.

In our industry reports, we share how being a digital leader differentiates IT executives from their industry peers and how the view of technologies leaders for individual industries compare with the overall industries in the following areas:

  • board priorities and investment
  • strategy and operating model
  • delivering value at speed
  • people and culture
  • the rise of cyber
  • analytics and insight.
