My name is Sonal Sharma, I am a resident of Silicon Valley, California. Originally, I am from India, born and raised in Bombay in a nuclear family setup with my parents and an older sibling. I have a master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and have worked in the cyber security domain for the last 7 years. I am a traveler, a global sustainability ambassador, and a self-proclaimed photographer.
I have an insatiable thirst for travel and experiences that involve meeting interesting people, taking risks, and learning about new cultures and cuisines. My idea of replenishment comes from indulgence in sports, video games, and meditation. I am a cold-weather person and you will always find me in one of the coldest places during Christmas.
I have been with KPMG for 4 years and have been engaged with projects primarily in the Media and Entertainment Industry, Financial Banking, Healthcare, and Technology industry. I am a Manager in the Cyber Advisory practice and have experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM), Information Security, Governance Risk, and Compliance Management. Throughout the years, I’ve had a variety of real world opportunities to collaborate with clients on building and managing their cyber risk vulnerabilities through strategy, product implementation, process operationalization, and sustainable delivery support.
KPMG has given me the platform to build and cultivate my technical and professional abilities while learning, adapting, and elevating my skill set and others around me. Through KPMG, I have also gotten the opportunity to be part of an incredible global group called One Young World, which is a non-profit organization for young leaders across the globe working together to inspire real concrete action and innovation aligned to the United Nations SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). This is my second year in a row serving as the USA Coordinating Ambassador for the West Coast while managing approximately 140 aspiring delegates in my region.
