Investors and analysts have broad faith in the quality of data and technical capabilities of the companies in their sectors. What’s missing, it seems, is the integration of these building blocks into a strategy for data and analytics that drives business strategy.

The challenge facing all companies, of course, is how to ensure that they make the best use of data and analytics so that their efforts are successful. It will not be enough to have a first class information technology program.
